A 25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration Platinum Bangle

1. The Consultation Process

Recently, we had the privilege of designing and crafting a fully bespoke platinum bangle for Jo and Malcolm to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary—a piece as meaningful as their journey together. This wasn’t just any bangle. It was a profoundly personal creation, featuring 25 exquisite gemstones—10 natural diamonds and 15 multicoloured sapphires and rubies—each symbolising a cherished year of their marriage. The rubies and blue sapphires served as a touching tribute to their beloved cats and dogs, adding an extra layer of sentimentality to this already special piece.

Understanding the importance of such a meaningful commission, Arran curated the perfect package, and Malcolm opted for our home consultation service. Aaron travelled to their home, bringing them his expertise and craftsmanship. During the consultation, they discussed ideas, explored different design elements, and envisioned a piece that perfectly captures their love and life together. Arran returned to our workshop with an initial concept, and our team began the intricate design process.

2. Designing the Perfect Bangle

Creating a bespoke piece like this requires technical skill, artistic vision, and precise craftsmanship. The solid platinum bangle was designed to be elegant and substantial, ensuring it would be a timeless heirloom. Once we had the perfect design, we presented it to Joe and Malcolm, along with the pricing, and they were thrilled. With their approval, we moved forward with production, ensuring it would be ready for their anniversary celebration.

3. The Art of Crafting Jewellery

The bangle was a challenge to construct, making it all the more exciting.

1. Sourcing the Stones - Every diamond, sapphire, and ruby was carefully selected for quality, colour, and brilliance. The multicoloured sapphires and rubies had to be perfectly balanced to create a harmonious flow across the piece.
2. Handcrafting the Platinum Bangle - Platinum is an incredibly durable yet difficult metal, requiring expertise and precision. The bangle was handcrafted to exact specifications, ensuring a seamless design that would be stunning and comfortable to wear.
3. Setting the 25 Gemstones - This was one of the most challenging aspects of the build. Each diamond, sapphire, and ruby was meticulously set by hand, ensuring flawless spacing, alignment, and balance. The placement of each stone was carefully considered to reflect the sentimental significance of their pets and their journey together.
4. Finishing Touches & Polishing - After setting the stones, the bangle underwent extensive finishing, including polishing to a mirror-like shine. This final step brought the entire piece to life, enhancing the contrast between the brilliant diamonds and the vivid coloured gemstones.
