tips from our director's proposal
For my own proposal, I chose The Hermitage in Dunkeld, Scotland. We had both fallen in love with Scotland, and after visiting The Hermitage together, I knew it was the perfect place to ask the question.
I planned the journey carefully, making sure we stayed nearby the night before and allowed plenty of time to reach the waterfalls the following morning, without feeling rushed.
My top tip: Choose somewhere that holds genuine meaning to you both, and consider incorporating elements of that location into the engagement ring itself.
For our ring, I chose a beautiful teal sapphire centre stone to represent the colour of the water, complemented by diamonds symbolising the white foam of the cascading waterfalls. Hidden beneath the setting, I added orange sapphires inspired by the rich autumn colours of the surrounding trees.
These subtle, personal details made the ring more than just a piece of jewellery. It became a reflection of the place where our next chapter began.
